Harston and Newton Primary School has a uniform, and we expect all children to wear it.

     School uniform is smart, practical and helps to build a sense of community. We want school uniform to be affordable to all, and to support this:

• most items of uniform can be purchased from any supplier;
• we have good-quality second-hand uniform available for purchase in school; please speak to the school office for more details;

School uniform  

• Red sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece - available with the school logo, but plain items are equally acceptable.

• White or red polo shirts or white shirts or blouses - polo shirts are available with the school logo, but plain items are equally acceptable.

• Grey or black trousers or shorts.

• Grey or black pinafores or skirts.

• Red gingham dresses (summer/warm weather wear). 

• Black school shoes rather than trainers.

• No jewellery - apart from small round ear-studs and watches.

• Year 6 colour - Royal Blue sweatshirt.

PE kit

• Coloured House T-shirt (school one or own plain one) or plain white T-shirt.

• Black or navy shorts.

• Tracksuit or jogging bottoms or sports leggings.

• Warm long-sleeved PE top for outdoor lessons in colder weather (e.g. hoodie, fleece, sweatshirt, tracksuit top).

• Trainers (just for PE).

• Spare socks for PE.

Woolen jumpers, football kits, and fashion items with slogans are not appropriate for school PE so should not be worn (football kit is fine for extra-curricular clubs though). The PE kit should be in a named drawstring bag. PE kit should be brought to school on Monday and taken home on Friday. If children have a PE lesson in the morning, they can come into school wearing PE kit and then change into uniform after their lesson. 

    Please ensure that all items of school uniform are clearly named, so that any items of lost property can be returned.
