We aim to build a strong relationship between parents and pre-school staff, as this ensures the best possible support for the children’s learning. Sharing information about your child’s strengths and interests is essential before your child starts and throughout their time at Pre-School. We have a settling-in period which enables you and your child to be confident about Pre-School.
Our key worker system allows you and your child to have access to one of the staff at Pre-School regularly. Your child’s key worker will build up a picture of your child’s successes and the next steps in their learning. Parents are always welcome to talk about their child’s progress, either at the end of a session, or at an appointment with their child’s key worker.
We observe the children continually throughout their time with us. Each term we collate the observations and write a summary in your child’s early years file. It is good for us to know about important events at home, such as the birth of a new baby, a birthday or moving house, so we can help your child share these.
A newsletter goes home at the beginning of each half-term. The content of this letter includes details about our topic, dates for your diary and general information.
