School Games Mark Award*
Harston & Newton Community Primary School has a strong sporting ethos and have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the past 4 years. As a result we were able to apply for the new and very prestigious Platinum Mark. We were very pleased to discover in December 2017 we are one of only 104 schools in the entire country who have been awarded Platinum School Games Mark for 2016-18. This is a reward that recognises all the PE that we do in school – the lessons we teach, the clubs we run, the coaches we bring in, the links we have with sports clubs and all the competitions we take part in.
*The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels, and now the new Platinum level.
